Q2S structural monitoring questions
Q2S connects 65-point simultaneous vibration measurement with fixed geometry for repeatable structural monitoring.
What does Q2S measure?
Q2S measures vibration simultaneously at 65 fixed points and connects the response to 3D geometry. Teams use the resulting velocity, derived displacement, spatial behaviour and strain data for bridges, infrastructure and other large structures.
How fast and how sensitive is Q2S?
The standard 65-channel configuration acquires every point in parallel at up to 40 kHz per channel. Vibration-velocity sensitivity is below 50 nm/s/√Hz, with geometry-linked processing for displacement sensitivity below 0.1 nm and strain sensitivity below 1 µstrain.
How does Q2S support repeatable outdoor monitoring?
The fixed optical geometry returns to the same measurement points for repeated or continuous observation. An IP54 enclosure, 0–40 °C operating range and integrated environmental compensation support permanent bridge and infrastructure installations.
What distance and speed ranges can Q2S cover?
Standard Q2S operation covers 0.5–50 m. Modular SpeedSync configurations extend the range to 0.3–300 m, sampling to 125 MHz and measurable velocity to ±47.9 m/s for high-speed and long-range structural measurements.
