Optical Head for High-Performance Single-Point Laser Vibrometry
SpeedSync is Ommatidia’s family of optical heads for laser vibrometry, designed to connect to the LDV read-out station and enable high-performance single-point non-contact measurements. Compatible with QMini and Q2, SpeedSync supports demanding vibrometry tasks requiring high sampling rate, high frequencies, large target velocities, and high dynamic range.
Available in short-/mid-range versions for distances below 50 m and long-range versions for distances up to 300m, SpeedSync gives users a practical way to adapt the optical front end to the measurement environment while keeping the same core read-out platform.
Why choose SpeedSync.
Not every measurement requires a full vibrometry array.
In some cases, one high-quality measurement point, captured without contact, with enough speed, bandwidth, and dynamic range can be enough to reflect real structural behavior.
That is where SpeedSync stands out.
It enables focused, high-performance single-point LDV measurements while remaining compatible with the broader Ommatidia ecosystem. Used with QMini, it supports compact and cost-effective measurement setups. Used with Q2, it adds value not only as a single-point measurement head, but also as a non-contact timing and phase reference for array-based workflows.

Connecting simple LDV and advanced array workflows.
SpeedSync is covers a range of applications from advanced single-point readout, to supporting full non-contact multi-point system. That makes it the right choice when users need:
one critical measurement point with strong signal quality
- high-speed, wide-band single-point vibrometry
- stand-off measurement in compact or remote setups
- a modular optical head adapted to the working distance
- a non-contact timing and phase reference alongside Q2
SpeedSync is Ommatidia clear solution for users who need serious single-point performance.
Built for demanding single-point measurements.
SpeedSync is designed for applications where timing, bandwidth, and dynamic range matter.
It is well suited to tasks involving:
- modal testing
- fast-moving targets
- transients
- rotating machinery
- structural responses
In these scenarios, the optical head is not just a peripheral component. It is a core part of measurement performance.

Short-range and long-range options
Different applications require different stand-off distances. SpeedSync is available in optical head versions optimized for compact laboratory use and long-range field measurements.

Standard SpeedSync
For measurements below 50 m, suited to laboratory, workshop, and industrial environments.
A compact single-beam measurement head for fast, non-contact vibration testing at short to mid range. Ideal for bench testing, component validation, machine diagnostics, and R&D setups where quick deployment, high sensitivity, and simple operation matter most.
- Fast setup in lab and workshop environments
- High-sensitivity single-point vibration measurement

Long-range SpeedSync
For measurements up to 300 m, where the target is remote, difficult to access, or better measured from a safe stand-off distance.
A long-range single-beam vibrometry solution for remote and safety-critical measurements, delivering synchronized, non-contact data capture when conventional instrumentation is difficult, intrusive, or impossible.
- Safe stand-off measurements on remote targets
- Long-range vibrometry with synchronized acquisition
- Eye-safe (Class 1M) to long distances
Compatible with QMini and Q2
A versatile tool enabling singe-point and array LDV measurements.
SpeedSync connects to Ommatidia’s LDV read-out stations and is compatible with:
- QMini, for focused single-point LDV setups
- Q2, for advanced vibrometry and synchronized workflows
This gives users a consistent optical approach across different system levels, while preserving flexibility in setup design and future expansion.
More than a measurement head
SpeedSync does more than enable standalone single-point measurements.
In combination with Q2, it can provide a non-contact timing and phase reference for the array, enabling full-fledge modal analysis.
That makes it useful not only as a measurement head in its own right, but also as a reference element inside more advanced synchronized setups.
A conventional single-point LDV may provide a signal. SpeedSync can also contribute to the wider architecture of an advanced measurement system.
Integrated into a practical workflow
Used with QMini or Q2, SpeedSync fits into Ommatidia’s workflow for acquisition, visualization, and data handling.
By leveraging Atelier and OmmH5Viewer, users can capture, review, process, and export measurement data efficiently, supporting a smooth path from acquisition to interpretation.
