Korean Delegation Visits Ommatidia LIDAR to Boost Spain-Korea Collaboration

At Ommatidia LiDAR, we recently welcomed a high-level Korean delegation led by Mr. Seungchul Oh, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), and Ms. Min Byung Ju, President of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). The visit highlighted the growing momentum behind the Spain Korea technology collaboration and focused on boosting joint innovation in key industrial sectors.

The delegation visited Spain as part of KIAT’s initiative to assess and promote ongoing bilateral R&D projects. These initiatives are jointly funded with Spain’s Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI). As a result, companies and institutions from both countries are working more closely than ever.

During the visit, we had the opportunity to present our latest developments in LiDAR technology. Together with IDNEO and 동원산업 (DongWon Industries), we showcased how our massively parallel FMCW LiDAR system delivers real impact in metrology, automation, and advanced sensing.

Importantly, this collaboration goes beyond companies. It brings together academic and industrial leaders, including Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), 한양대학교 (Hanyang University), ALC, and Viewnyx. This strong international network blends research excellence with industrial know-how.

We’re excited to be part of this dynamic partnership. By working together, Spain and Korea are building a powerful platform for technological growth and innovation.
